The challenge
Prior to the commissioning of the heating and cooling generators, it was strictly mandated that all piping systems be guaranteed clean. New construction piping often contains contaminants such as sand, welding spatter, metal shavings, and flash rust—anomalies that can cause malfunctions and premature failure of HVAC systems.
Our client therefore set clear requirements for pre-commissioning filtration.
Our solution
Van Abeelen Rental Solutions has delivered a full-flow filtration solution that is not only more effective at filtering than traditional bypass concepts, but is also faster to deploy.
Within just 4 rental weeks, both pipe systems were cleaned simultaneously with:
- Two freely programmable liquid pumps
- Dual filters with integrated magnets
- Fluid hoses, electrical cables and accessories
By filtering at design flow rate and design pressure, turbulent conditions were created in which coarse particles are trapped in the 0.25 mm filters. Subsequently, filtration was carried out at a low, laminar flow rate to efficiently remove fine stray rust by means of the magnets.
